Why do most rally cars sound like a backfiring, roaring fart-can only a million times better? What is the secret to this most Devine sound? I must know!

Because racecar.
No, really. More open cams, probably no catalyst, and the sound fits the part of "fast car", not just "pile of shit next to you in traffic"

Basically: loads of boost and even moar boost for boosting the boost.

Most of that just went over my head, but I think I kind of understand. It pumps in extra fuel while decelerating to keep the turbo doing its witchcraft and keeps the power up. I think. Thanks, though!

Yo, Dawg. I heard you like boost, so I put some boost in your turbo to make it boost while you're not boostin' so that you can boost when you wanna roost !

"...backfiring, roaring fart-can only a million times better?"
Reason #83,719 why I wish I can hear. * sigh*
